"Ambient Dream Garden fundraiser mix set" SHMÜMER

In 2007, a group of friends led by Max Abelev set out to build an Ambient Dream Garden for that year's Burning Man festival. Ambient Dream Garden was to be a meditative place to rest in the middle of a scorching hot day on the Playa, and to warm up during a cold night, while listening to, and interacting with, the dreams of perfect strangers set to ambient sounds.

The project involved many people playing multiple roles, from interviewing the prospective dreamers for recounts of their dreams, to writing music, to preparing and building an actual installation in the middle of the desert. Needless to say, financial resources were an important factor. To this end, fundraiser parties were organized in New York and San Francisco. SHMÜMER was involved with ADG project from the start, as one of its co-creators, as a composer of its soundtrack, and, of course, as a DJ at a fundraiser party.

This recording is Shmümer's rehearsal for an excellent mix set he played at the fundraiser. Enjoy!
